Discover JMG Beauty Bar — a North Plainfield beauty studio founded in 2019 by Mercedes Guaman. Located on Somerset Street, the bar brings lashes, brows, hair and nails under one roof, serving the community with the kind of care that makes first-time clients feel like regulars.
Mercedes earned her cosmetology license from Robert Fiancé Beauty School in 2015 and has been doing hair since high school. Everything at JMG is hands-on, personal, and precision-focused.
Deposit & Patch Test
New lash extension clients are required to book a $20 patch test at least 48 hours before their first full set. A credit card deposit may be required to secure your appointment.
Cancellation Policy
Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged a fee equivalent to the service cost.
Arrival
Please arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes for lash services. Touch-ups are available within 10 days of your last set. After 10 days, choose a 2- or 3-week refill.

Arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes for all lash services. Touch-ups apply within 10 days; choose a 2- or 3-week refill after that.
Hair services that include a wash — please arrive ready to be shampooed. Lash Extensions & Lash Lifts — please arrive with no eye makeup or mascara. If needed, arrive early to cleanse your eye area.
All appointments include a 15-minute grace period. Arrivals beyond 15 minutes are treated as late cancellations and charged 50% of the service.
We ask that you reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment, or you may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the service price. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours will be charged 50% of the service total. We value your time and ours.
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your seat. Cancellations or no-shows forfeit the deposit. By submitting your deposit, you agree to these terms.
Licensed cosmetologist since 2015 and the heart of JMG Beauty Bar. Mercedes started styling hair in high school, trained at Robert Fiancé Beauty School, and opened JMG in 2019. She built this studio so every client walks out feeling exactly the way they imagined — camera-ready, cared for, and coming back.
